Staff Advisory Council Prepares for New Challenges in 2000
As a new year begins, the College Staff Advisory Council (SAC) looks forward to the challenges ahead. The council, which serves in an advisory capacity to Vice President Bobby Moser, consists of 26 members appointed from areas throughout the college, including the Columbus campus, OARDC, ATI and OSU Extension. Council members serve as a "think tank& quot; by bringing staff issues of concern or interest to the attention of Dr. Moser and the administrative cabinet.

This past year, task forces have been hard at work on a multitude of projects. A College Staff Advisory Council web site was developed to keep staff updated on council activities. Staff is encouraged to visit the site at http://www.ag.ohio-state.edu/~sac/
A list serve was established to allow the council to maintain a communications link with college staff. The intent of the list serve is to provide staff with pertinent information quickly, as well as allowing the council to receive staff responses on issues as needed. The council is also exploring alternatives to reach those without internet access.
Staff in the college will be receiving a Staff Advisory Council Membership Directory containing contact information and a brief job description of each of the representatives currently serving on the council. Staff is encouraged to contact council members with staff issues of concern. The council membership information is also available on the web site.
College staff will soon be sent a survey in an effort to provide the council with a better idea of staff concerns and ideas for making the college a more compelling place to work. The council urges all staff to complete and return the survey so the council may focus on these issues in the coming months.
A promotional display is being developed, in conjunction with the Office of Communications and Technology, to make staff aware of the council and it's function within the college. Look for the display at upcoming functions later this year.
